Brazilian football fans may finally see their national teams and clubs return to the EA Sports franchise, as reports indicate that EA is in active talks with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and several top-tier clubs. According to a recent article by Estadão, EA has formally submitted a proposal to include both the men’s and women’s Brazilian national teams in EA FC 26.

This potential return is significant. Brazil—one of the most iconic football nations—has been absent in a fully licensed capacity for several years. In EA FC 25, neither the men’s nor women’s Brazilian national teams were among the international selections. Brazil last appeared in Kick Off mode back in FIFA 21, with only a brief return at the launch of FIFA 23 before being removed again.

Should the deal go through, EA would regain the rights to official player names, kits, badges, and likenesses. That means fans could soon see stars like Vinicius Junior, Alisson, Raphinha, and potentially even Neymar, fully represented in-game. With Carlo Ancelotti taking over as national team coach and the World Cup coming in 2026, the timing couldn’t be better.

What About Brazilian Clubs?
EA is also pursuing Brazil’s domestic league, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. While Brazilian clubs haven’t been fully featured in recent editions due to licensing limitations, change could be coming. EA is negotiating with clubs individually, as required under Brazilian law, since two organizations—Libra and LFU—currently control player rights distribution.

These legal hurdles have made licensing complicated in the past, forcing EA to exclude some of Brazil’s biggest stars. Even Neymar, who rejoined Santos FC, has been absent from FC 25 since February due to these restrictions. Other notable names in the Brazilian league include Memphis Depay, Hulk, and Yannick Bolasie.

The previous exclusive rights deal between the CBF and eFootball publisher Konami, which began in 2016 and expanded to cover the Brazilian league in 2020, is reportedly nearing its end. This could finally open the door for EA to strike a new, more comprehensive agreement.

Although rumors suggest up to 12 Brazilian clubs may appear in EA FC 26, only two are said to be in advanced negotiations so far.
