However, I believe that it's now the time to get behind the Bears, who are still just a year from being in Super Bowl contention. The Lions might be lifeless at the moment however Chicago went on the road against a College Football 25 Coins division foe with one of their backup quarterbacks on a short week and won. That's huge. Washington couldn't have done it.
On Sunday, Chase Daniel showed why that he is often paid huge amounts of money for being a backup. He scored 27-37 and 220 yards . He also scored two touchdowns. This game proved that Matt Nagy is a legit coach. Not that he wasn't beforehand but the Bears offense was able to perform well under the circumstances. They didn't really have an offensive game, but they were able to keep their players open throughout the day.
Nagy made a few subtle adjustments in the game , which I feel were significant and often overlooked. In the first half the team tried a few deeper passes, but Chase was a little off. That's not surprising considering he's barely worked with these wide receivers with full force. In the second half, they disappear. Shorter throws and easier completions. Great adjustments.
The Bears defense started the game as the number one defense in the College Football 25 because they have the ability to tackle all. They've had 34 sacks and are only allowing 3.6 yards per carry, tied with the Saints for the best defense in the College Football 25. What takes their defense from good to great are the turns. They have been able to force 29 turnovers, which includes 20 interceptions and scored on six of those.
Though this is an offensive one, the Bears are most likely the only defense that can be competitive with the Saints in the playoffs and which gives them a chance.
The most horrible thing that could happen is going on with the Cowboys this moment.
They're winning. Why is this bad? It's because Jason Garrett might keep his job if they win this year's NFC East, and Garrett should not keep his job. I've written previously about this.
The offensive is dull. It's gotten better with the addition of Amari Cooper, but it's not that different. It's Amari Cooper making plays. Thursday was an excellent illustration.
The first touchdown was a short catch and a long sprint. The second was a solid catch, which was a triple coverage, and Cooper eventually broke free and used his speed to finish it off. Cooper's been worthy of the first-round draft selection so far, and people like me who claimed he was not will have to eat our words. Also, while Cooper has made the offense more efficient however, I'm not convinced that Cooper has made Dak Prescott any more effective.
What Cooper has done is opened the run game bit. It's a patchwork Cowboys offensive line ran well yesterday. It was once the formula they used to achieve success, and they are getting back to it. But , again, they've got one recipe for success. It's not a formula that will keep them winning for long, but it's a good start.
The most impressive thing the Cowboys have to offer is their defense. It's fast. It's physical, and they are able to rush passers. It's the defense that gives them a chance to win each and every week. I love watching this defense play. They will play the Saints this upcoming Thursday which means they'll be facing the most rigorous test. We will be able to be more objective following the game.
What's to comment on the night's match? The Falcons are a mess.
The Falcons do things that bad football teams do. They fumbled inside the 5-yard line twice , and once inside the 20. Matt Ryan threw a tipped pass intercept for their fourth error.
Ryan was 35-for-47 and 377 yards. He could have had as many as 60 attempts at passing. The Saints were rated as one of the best rushing defenses in the College Football 25. and the Falcons scored just about one yard per rush in the first half. They ended the game with an Buy College Football Coins average of 26 yards on 16 attempts. Just brutal.
